The role of technology in my profession and life

Really I'm not an expert in technology, and neither I expect do that but, it's true that the technology has changed our live and the way that we relation with the society, nature, etc
In the university I have seen little use of that, I think this fact is for few resources but principally for the afraid that some people have in that. When I see some videos about Universities in other countries, they have subject about musical production, software, programming, and this it's because the music world goes in that direction as all the professional areas.
Anyway, despite my inexperience, I try to use technology in my daily study because exist some apps very useful, like an app call "transcribe", It's an programm that can speed up a music file or speed down, it's nice for make some transcription of solos or listen something in the way you want. Before use that I must edit the file and cut the extension because you can only listen 45 seconds of the audio (If you use it in free mode), so I do that in a pc programm call "audacity, it use is very easy and you can send your file in the format you want (mp3, wav, etc).
In the last years I have seen some artistic shows where are a combination between dance, music and visuals using some projections and the instruments was using electronics effects with some pedals or synthesizer. That kind of things we can see in a loot of popular music, especially in the last music gender, like the trap. If we see that happen in the arts,why would it not happen in our daily live?
The technology is here to stay and we must learn to live with that, in the healthiest way possible and trying not to affect our relationship (familiar, love relationship, friendship, etc) in a bad way.

Challenges for 2020

I`m sure that this year will have very interesting things, the protest could continue and in the academic world I expect learn a loot of things and make some musical proyects. I hope this year finish degree and prepare to work or maybe travel to study. Anyway, I really want be better in my instrument and learn from teachers to do that. I think that every new year and new day we have the chance to be better in all area of our life and help each other till get that objetive. I was thinking how deal with this particular year, and how I can be a contribution in it, but the answer it's difficult because I don't know what will happen. So maybe the principal challenge will how do that, how be a real social support and what kind of things I must will change to do that. Maybe analyze yourself be the most challenge ever and change things that can hurts somebody too, like offensive words, an action, etc.
Another challenge could be learn about other area of music, like armony and composition, because like a student of musical interpretation the knowledge about this topics is very limited and it's so important know about that and how the music works in all areas so, how I do have some base about that I'd like to learn more and try to apply in any context of music.

How I said before, I don't know what will happen this year, so I expect do my better and keep my objectives, in spite of what happen and how someplans can change, because the important thing is grow  and be a real contribution.

Concerts

I have  good relations with the concerts because I like the way that people have conection with the music and the good circles that creates the show. In my life I have enjoyed some concerts of any types and styles, but I remember some where I had a good time and I still have afections on them.
In first place I remember a festival of Latinoamerican music that called "frontera", that was the first concert that I went with my girlfriend and was the first version, so the festival had good expectations and good groups like fabulosos cadillacs, fiskales ad-hok, Anita Tijoux, etc. It was in club hipico, so a loot  people arrived to the festival, that was really a good moment.
 Another one was the Mike Stern concert, I remember that I wanted to go because of the drummer, his name is Dave welck, and he's a beast of drum and musically he have good management, but in that moment I didn't know Mike. When the concert began I was in shock for the people that I was watching. I never will forget the musical and human quality of that artists because when the concert finished, they went to the hall and taken pictures with the people for free. Until today it's hard to believe for me that exist this kind of musician, because in Chile generally the musician can play dirty to get his objective, and only want his succesful, but meet Mike broke that thinking and makes me really want to dedicate my life on music. I know that in my life I will go to more concerts and that fact makes me excited.

places to go

¡Hi! This time I'm going to tell you a place that I'd like to visit and I know that it`s very possible. Is not an especific place, rather is a sector of our country, I mean the south of Chile. The reason why I would like to visit is because I have never go freely. When I was a kid I went with my family at Concepción but that was a restricted trip, because I was 10 years old. At present I want to go to places like "carretera Austral", Cochamo, Glaciers, etc. Think About that is very excited because the south of our country have a beautiful landscape and fauna. In First instance I want to go with my brother because I know that He'd accompany me if I want to do trekking, or stay in a campsite, or go to far away places. A person that I would like to come with me too is my girlfriend, because I think that could be a good opportunity to do different things and walk around nice places. I hope to travel when I finish my studies in the university, because It don`t ever know If I Will be able to do that in other moment, so I have all my hope in that day.

Sometimes I have the idea to travel to other countries like Germany, United states or Brazil, because I´m interested in the culture of those countries and one day I’d like to visit those for study. Anyway I think that I have time to think about that…

Merlí

I'm a bad person for watch series, movies or tv shows, so I'm going talk about the last serie that I watched. It call Merlí, is a netflix serie and It is about of a Philosophy teacher that arrives at a school and thrown into confusion all the organization. That series liked to me because, I felt identify with his form of teach, also was a great form to remember something about philosophy, and learn to. The director is Héctor Lozano and the main role played by Francesc Orellana.
It's dificult to me write about one favourite scene, because I enjoyed all the serie, maybe could be the moment when Bruno (son of merlí) and Pol (an student) have a moment of carnal intimacy, is a nice moment and break with the gender stereotypes and with the image of pretty men that have sex with all the girls. My favourite character are Merli and his mother, because they have a love-hate relation that develops throughtout history, allowing know the history of Merli and his way of seeing life.
I recommend this serie, it give us a moment of laugh and reflection.

Improvise

Some months ago I analized the idea of learn how to improvise in the music and looked for the way to do that. The music world is too big and I felt like I had learned nothing in all this years, so I depressed a little, but at the same time I really wanted inside in that world. I had some problems when I talk that with my instrument teacher, especially because we need to keep going with the year programm, fortunately he had interest in that subject, so was a motivation walk in that area with my teacher.  The fact that I wanted learn about other way to make music maked me feel fear , but is a good way to get better. Is important that the Chilean musician learn how to improvise and how is the popular music, because we will not all work in an orchestra and with the solid bases that we have, we can do and learn too much things. I hope in the future the Universidad de Chile and their teachers realize the importance of all the music, and not just the classical.

researching

In my experience as student I've learned how to study by my self, research some information and choose correctly what kind of text, video or documentary  I use. The website site that I usually use is Youtube because there are alot of information and is a funny way to learn, also I can see some interview of musicians and looking for information like , how they study, what kind of routine they had or methods. If I find interesting information about methods, I research in google or with my teachers and try to employ the new knowledge. Two "Youtubers" that I follow are Rob Knopper and Tim collins, both percussionist, but one of them focus on vibraphone (Tim collins) and the other one in orchestral percussion (Rob knopper). When I see their videos, especially of Rob Knopper, I feel good because the material that we study in Chile have sense and give to me some hope about the future. Anyway, right now I'm triying to learn about how to improvise and popular armony, and it's crazy how much information there is in internet, and maybe that fact makes me gratefull of the University.
